From the Students
I am learning things I never knew about fitness. All previous PE classes have been centered just on the physical aspect and not on the actual benefits, styles, and methods of physical fitness. Now that I understand a little more about ways to train properly, I am more motivated to workout and less apt to slack off. ~Heidi, Student~
I have enjoyed the challenges of online PE. It is much harder than I thought and more challenging than PE at school. There are a lot more resources online and there is more of an emphasis on physical activity and health rather than just goofing around. I also like the multi-media lessons. I think they are very informational. ~Kenny, Student~
The PE class has been really fun so far. I have found that as I get used to self motivation, exercising by myself is easier. It sets me up for later in life where I will have to be self motivated if I want to stay healthy.
I also see that it is changing my family life. Currently, all our family members are overweight. I am hoping to use what I learn in this course to help our all around daily life and to educate us all on how to stay fit. So far, this is succeeding and it is a good feeling.
Also, when I am in a traditional PE class, I always feel pressured by the other students there. It makes me self conscious about how well I do to the point of slacking off. This is obviously a very bad thing. So it helps relieve the pressures of feeling like I am being compared. All around, I feel this course is very beneficial. ~Stephanie, Student~
The daily workouts have definately helped with several areas of my life. Working out always makes me feel healthier, but with the pregnancy I had kind of given up until I enrolled in this course and working out was a necessity. I am so glad I took the course now. It has made me stronger physically, which is good for the baby, and emotionally and that helps everyone around me. I honestly believe that the daily workouts are the main reason I have stayed in a positive mood througout the pregnancy. I will continue to workout with the same type of schedule. I have been impressed with the work required from the students through the Carone Fitness courses. Students are required to be involved in regular fitness activities of their choice each week through fitness logs. The assignments teach why fitness is so important and how they can personally apply it. Hopefully each student will have the desire to continue with their habit of regular exercise after completing the course. Isn't that our main goal as physical educators - to make fitness a life-long activity? I would definitely recommend the use of the Carone Fitness program as an online option for Physical Education. ~Maryon Wallentine, PE Teacher~

The courses have gotten great feedback from students: they particularly appreciate the anonymity offered by an online “PE class” and the orientation of the course toward creating a healthy lifestyle rather than just participating in group sports.
